Dave Bruce is the Spartanburg School District Six Coordinator of Bands and the head director of Dorman High School. Mr. Bruce directs the Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band and Jazz Band. As coordinator Mr. Bruce oversees the Middle School Band programs, the Dorman Freshman Campus program, the High School Winter Guard, and the Indoor Percussion Ensemble. Mr. Bruce’s bands have consistently earned Superior Ratings at local, state, regional and national competitions. He has served as an adjudicator in Florida, Georgia and South Carolina. This is Mr. Bruce’s first year as director of his Alma Mater and fifteenth overall. Mr. Bruce plays the trumpet with the orchestra at First Baptist Church Spartanburg. Dave Bruce is married to Jennifer and they have two sons, Connor and Colten.
Elizabeth Bertoldo is originally from Whippany, New Jersey where she graduated from Whippany Park High School. She received her Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Syracuse, New York, in upstate New York and is concurrently working on a Masters of Music and Doctorate of Musical Arts from Boston University. Ms. Bertoldo is currently the Assistant Director of Bands and Head of Colorguard at Dorman High School in Roebuck, South Carolina.

Jonathan is currently
percussion instructor and IT technician at Dorman High School. Under his
direction, the indoor ensemble at Dorman
has won the SCBDA
State Open Class Indoor Championships every time they’ve attended, won
two WGI Percussion Regionals, made WGI open Class World semi-finals, and been
the CIPA Open Class Champions the last two consecutive years. Before moving
to South Carolina, Jonathan lived in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where he taught
Dalton high School, Soddy-Daisy high School, and the University of Tennessee
at Chattanooga’s marching percussion ensembles. Jonathan has also taught
and written for numerous other ensembles - including Spirit Of Atlanta drum
and bugle corps, Magic Of Orlando drum and bugle corps, Scenic City drum and
bugle corps, West Georgia College, as well as numerous Georgia, Tennessee,
and South Carolina high school bands.
