  • SCIWAY.NET (South Carolina’s information highway—if you want to know something about SC, look here first.)
  • SC PARKS (highlights SC’s 46 state parks and gives good information)
  • SC CENSUS FACTS (2000 information and up-to-date estimates)
  • SC STATEHOUSE ONLINE (research current or recent legislation or email your representative!)
  • KNOWITALL.ORG (great site for fun or research—I use this site in my classroom for lessons.)
  • SC Firsts from SCIWAY (This site gives you milestones occurred in South Carolina and were the first of their kind in the United States or world.)

  • ECONOMICS – EH.NET (scroll down and click on “purchasing power of United States dollar, 1774-2007.”  Then, type in your appropriate figures and years and press “calculate.”  This tool tells you how much a certain amount of money was worth in a particular year compared to a different year—very handy for a historian!)
  • HISTORY CHANNEL ONLINE (Anything history related, you will find on this site, from timelines to “This Day in History.”)
  • LIBRARY OF CONGRESS (This is a very informative site for the serious researcher.)
