Grading Rubric
for Problem of the Week
Mrs. White’s
classes
Writing POTW Solutions
REQUEST
(paragraph 1):
Rephrase
the question. Use GIST strategy (20 words). Check rubric to make sure you
include all for a 4.
RESPONSE
(paragraph 2 . may be several paragraphs long)
Write
and explain what you did to get the answer.
Go into detail explaining steps you took. Things you tried and didn’t
work and did eventually work. How did
you solve the problem? What strategies
did you use? Show ALL WORK (even scratch work or diagrams used). Check rubric.
REVIEW (last paragraph):
What
is your answer? What did you learn? Give credit to anyone who helped you. Your solution does not have to be correct to
get credit but your answer does have to be reasonable for credit to be given.
Check rubric.
POTW
will be given out on Fridays and taken up the next Friday.
You
may ask anyone for help or use any resource to find the solution. Share with
your family.
Be
creative in your thinking and presentation of final work.
YOU MAY NOT
COPY SOMEONE ELSE’S WORK!
