BELIEFS

We believe that...

  • Each student is a valued individual with unique intellectual, physical and emotional needs with intrinsic values and should be treated fairly in an environment where cultural diversity is respected and valued.
  • Student experiences greatly affect abilities and the potential to learn.
  • Student behavior and attitude related directly to learning.
  • Students learn in different ways, therefore, clear goals and high expectations for student achievement should guide the design of instructional strategies and learning activities.
  • Assessments of student learning should provide students with a variety of opportunities to demonstrate their achievements and authentic contents in which to apply their learning.
  • Communications and involvement among school/community/parent/ guardian/student are vital to student success.
  • Teachers, staff, administrators, parents, students, and community members share in the responsibility of providing a supportive, safe learning environment within our school.
  • The commitment to continuous improvement is imperative if our school is going to enable students to become confident, self-directed, lifelong learners.
