R.D. Anderson Applied Technology Center is one of 49 career centers in the state which provide high school students with skills necessary to prepare them for a successful career in an ever-changing work place.

Students can receive National, State, or Local Industry-Certifications for certain programs.Also, Dual Credit agreements with Spartanburg Community College and Greenville Technical College allow students to earn college credit.

• 24 Scholarships given to RDA seniors

• 100% of Cosmetology Students have passed the state board exam for the past 3 years!

• 100% of the Nursing Assisting students passed the state exam!

• 100% of the AYES, Automotive Technology students passed all portions of the national exam!

• 100% of the Fire/EMS students received certification as a 1st responder!



Faculty Profile
R.D. Anderson's faculty draws from a sound industrial and educational experience base in preparation and delivery of course content. With 27 members, the faculty and staff represents a total of 240 years of industrial experience and 380 years of educational experience. All members of the instructional staff at R.D. Anderson are certified in either academics or a career and technology area. One teacher holds National Board Certification. Forty-one percent have advanced degrees (masters degrees or higher) with the remainder having bachelors degrees and/or Class I teacher certification. R.D. Anderson is proud to have an ASE (Automotive Service Excellence Award) master technician on staff.



School Facilities
Major renovations have taken place over the past four years to our center. We are growing rapidly and making changes necessary to serve the large number of students who want to attend our center.
• In 2006-07 all of the windows and doors were replaced throughout the entire facility.
• We have four wings which house 12 program areas. Over 31 different courses offered.
• Three Apple Computer labs for use with Graphic Arts/Multi-media/Web Design with up-to-date software
• Brand new press for use in Commercial Design and Graphic Arts programs
• State of the art Computer Aided Drafting lab with software updated yearly
• Newly designed Auto Collision Repair classroom and addition of 2nd paint booth
• State of the art lab for Automotive Technology students
• 1st class welding lab with state of the art equipment and newly designed exhaust system
• 2 Cosmetology labs which house 40 students for Level 1 and another 35 for Level II
• 3 Health Science classrooms fully equipped
• 2 Culinary Arts labs and one full kitchen
• Computers in every classroom
• School-wide computer lab/media center
• 2 Carpentry labs
• Machine Tool lab
• Horticulture lab and Greenhouse
• Fire Trucks/Police Car for use with our Law, Public Safety courses
