Elementary School Choice Application Grades 5K-5th

2022-2023

In accordance with School Board Policy JBC, Spartanburg County School District Six is offering limited school choice, grades 5K-5th, for the 2022-2023 academic year based on the availability of space within specific grade levels at each elementary school in the district.  You may request that your child attend a school other than his or her zoned school by completing and submitting this application form to the Office of Student Services at the address specified below no later than March 31, 2022.  All applications will be considered in the order in which they were received. Parents will be notified of the status of their request no later than June 24, 2022.  Students who have already been approved for school choice do not have to reapply for the 2022-2023 academic year, unless the student is advancing from elementary school to middle school, and the middle school of choice is not in the assigned attendance zone.  Should you choose to register a rising 5K student before the student is approved for school choice, you must register your student at his/her zoned school.

NOTE: For the 2022-2023 school year, there is no available space for school choice at Anderson Mill, Arcadia, Fairforest, Roebuck, or West View.

If your request for school choice is granted, your student must remain at the chosen school for the entire school year and may remain there through the final grade in the school. Please be aware that it is the responsibility of the family to provide transportation to and from the requested school outside of your student’s attendance zone. You must also have your student at school on time and picked up promptly at dismissal. Students must not have excessive tardies (no more than 10 unexcused tardies) in order for the transfer to remain in effect.  Also, students are expected to maintain an acceptable academic, discipline, and attendance record (no more than 10 unexcused absences).  A principal may choose to revoke transfer privileges should a student fail to meet these expectations. If you agree to the above requirements and wish to make an official request that your child attend a school other than his or her zoned school, please complete and submit this form by March 31, 2022.  Please submit a separate application for each individual child to:
