Spartanburg County School District Six has announced that Ms. Abigail Miller will represent District Six as the 2025 Induction Teacher of the Year. The South Carolina chapter of the Association for Teaching, Learning, and Leading sponsors a state Induction Teacher of the Year Award. This award honors a first-year teacher who has a high level of enthusiasm, is invested in the well-being and growth of students, and has an impeccable work ethic.
Ms. Miller is a 4th grade teacher at Jesse S. Bobo Elementary School and was selected from a very distinguished group of first-year educators. The nominees for this award showed excellence in classroom environment and management, instructional strategies, strong family/student connections, and professionalism.
Reflecting on this honor, Miller shared, “I am truly honored. But when you work with great administrators, teachers, and committed parents, it makes coming to school ten times more enjoyable! I could not have had such an amazing year without the help of my students and the D6 community.”
Miller is a graduate of Furman University. She says her favorite part of teaching is watching her students walk through the door, grow as humans, and become more of themselves everyday.
