Dear District Six Parents and Guardians,
To support families in planning for the 2026–2027 school year, we’re excited to share our new modified academic calendar. This year-round schedule includes more frequent breaks to help students recharge and maintain steady progress throughout the year. It still provides important staff development days, giving teachers time to collaborate and strengthen instruction for our students.

The first day of school will be held Thursday, August 6, 2026.
The last day of school will be held Friday, May 28, 2027.
This calendar includes a short Fall Break - October 15 & 16, 2026 and a Winter Break - February 15-19, 2027.
Students will still be in school for the same number of days. State law requires them to attend 180 days.
School will begin a few days earlier than in previous years and is also being extended by a few days. This accounts for the additional breaks during the school year.
