Honoring a Legacy of Service Dorman High School is proud to announce the unveiling of the Officer Javan King Scholarship Fund, established to honor the life of a true District Six legend.
Officer King faithfully served as a School Resource Officer at Dorman High School for thirty years. A beloved member of the District Six family and a true pioneer, he began his service long before school resource officers were common, setting the standard for what it means to serve students, staff, and his community with integrity and love.
The Officer Javan King Scholarship will support Dorman graduates who are pursuing a degree in criminal justice or law. Through this scholarship, his commitment to service will continue through future generations.
Thank you to Officer King’s beautiful wife, Millie, for allowing us to honor his life, legacy, and service in such a meaningful way. The scholarship was unveiled during Friday night’s basketball game at Dorman, making the moment even more special. We also shared a video that reflects on the impact Officer King had on everyone he met.
