Register for Bus Transportation

Spartanburg County School District 6 Transportation Services now requires ALL bus riders to complete a School Bus Registration Request to ensure your child is routed and assigned to the closest bus stop available.  This form is only for students who are riding the bus from home to school and/or school to home.  Failure to complete this form for any student may result in delayed transportation eligibility and ridership.  Each student must have their own separate form on file within Transportation Services. Select the appropriate button below to register your child.

For the start of the 2024-2025 school year:

School Bus Registration requests will be processed in the order in which they are received by Transportation Services.  Please DO NOT fill out multiple requests unless the information or address has changed on the previous request.  A transportation official will reach out to you with information on your child's route number, estimated pick-up time and location, and estimated drop-off time and location.

After the start of the 2024-2025 school year:

School Bus Registration requests will be processed in the order in which they are received by Transportation Services.  Please allow 3-5 days for your request to be processed.  Once processed, a transportation official will reach out to you with information on your child's route number, estimated pick-up time and location, and estimated drop-off time and location.

Important Information

Please provide accurate information when completing this form. Failure to do so will delay your school bus registration request. If you have moved, please make sure that your address is updated at the school level so that your request will not be delayed. It may take up to 2-3 days to be verified from the school level to Transportation Services.

Special Education Transportation Services will be coordinated through Special Education and/or the school in which your child is assigned to attend by Special Education only.  Filling out this form does not register your child for Special Needs Transportation.

School of Choice students who reside out of their attending school's zone do not qualify for bus transportation and will not need to fill out this form.  All parents of school of choice students are responsible for their child's transportation to and from school.

Once bus routes have been stabilized, students will be removed from the bus roster if they do not ride the bus for 5 consecutive days without notification to Transportation Services.  Bus stops may also be dropped if there aren’t any riders at the stop.  Exceptions to this rule will be made for students participating in extra-curricular activities providing that they have notified the transportation department in advance.

If you move or need to change pick up and/or drop off address after completing this request, please submit a new bus registration request with the changed information.

Parental Responsibility for safe and timely arrival of children to and from bus stop (SC Section 59-67-415)

Students should be ready to board the bus at least 10 minutes prior to the scheduled pickup time and expect to wait up to 10 minutes afterwards for the bus to arrive. If the bus is more than 10 minutes late, please check the website for bus delays.

SC Section 59-67-415:

Parents or guardians are responsible for the safety, conduct, and the timely arrival of their children to, from, and at the designated school bus stop before the arrival of the school bus for pick up and transport to school and the timely departure of the children after the school bus leaves the designated school bus stop after transporting the children from school. For purposes of this section, the phrase "arrival of the school bus" includes the time that the school bus assigned to the school bus stop activates the required pedestrian safety devices, stops, and loads or unloads students until the school bus deactivates all pedestrian safety devices.

School Bus Discipline

Responsibility for safe transportation of students is shared by administrators, bus drivers, parents, and students.  Riding a school bus is a privilege - not a right.  Necessary action will be taken by school officials to ensure that all students conduct themselves properly at all times.  Where there is evidence of misconduct by any student, disciplinary action will be taken to correct the situation.  All bus riders must cooperate fully with the bus driver and observe bus rules.  Standards for student conduct and disciplinary procedures have been established and will be administered by school officials.  Bus discipline shall include, but not be limited to warnings, parent conferences, and suspensions from the bus.
