Homebound Services
HOMEBOUND INSTRUCTION
Medical homebound instruction is given to students who are unable to attend school due to an accident, illness, or pregnancy. To be considered for services, a licensed physician, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant must certify that the student is unable to attend school but may benefit from instruction outside of school.
Medical homebound instruction is a short-term intervention designed to help students who are unable to attend school, due to medical reasons, stay current with their studies and ease their transition back to the classroom. It is not intended to fully replicate the classroom nor can it replace the social, instructional, and developmental experiences provided through in-person attendance. Students receiving homebound instruction are subject to State and District attendance regulations.
HOW TO APPLY
Parents/Guardians may contact the Homebound Coordinator at their child's school to initiate the medical homebound process.
